CAN Bus

The CAN bus is a transparent CAN (Controller Area Network) bus connection that enables the serial exchange of data between several equally authorised control units. Connections via CAN bus are serial bus systems and belong to the field buses.

Our DATAEGALE radio system can transmit CAN bus protocols via Bluetooth or other radio technologies. The radio data systems are intended to reduce cable trees in moving installations and thus save costs.

In automation sensor and application data from machines are transmitted from the field level to a central control unit. Moving parts, e.g. in windmills or mobile machinery, require wireless communication solutions for the different protocols (fieldbus). Therefore, radio links are used. The DATAEAGLE 6000 modules “speak CAN and CANopen“ and provide data communication in wireless network areas with highest reliability. Our software DATAEAGLE Wizard allows a quick installation, as well as a fast set-up of a whitelist.

Various radio technologies are used for transmission, mostly Bluetooth 2.4 GHz or 869 / 915 MHz in the licensed band and allow a bus speed of up to 500 kbit/s. In addition, the radio systems are easy to install. There are two different housing variants compact (IP 20) for cabinet mounting and X-treme (IP 65) for direct use in industrial environments or outdoors.
