Here you find all about Remote monitoring.
Remote monitoring
Remote monitoring is a term used extensively: It describes the remote monitoring of devices, machines or plants for proper condition or correct function. In general usage, the term also includes the measures that are taken as a consequence of such monitoring, as is already the case with the remote maintenance of pumps. The aim of remote monitoring is to detect failures or malfunctions of all kinds at the monitored “objects” in good time and to prevent them by suitable measures (quality and availability through condition-oriented maintenance).
Prerequisites for this are (1) intelligent sensors on site as well as an edge gateway with connection to a locally available communication network and (2) a centrally located portal (at the manufacturer’s or a service provider’s premises) for analysing the data and initiating appropriate measures.
Application at Schildknecht AG
Schildknecht AG is one of the pioneers in the field of remote monitoring and is successfully active there. This requires, on the one hand, the radio modules of the DATAEAGLE 7000 series, which with their universal, globally valid eSIM card have a mobile phone function and thus deliver the data provided by the sensors via local mobile radio and the Internet to an associated control centre; on the other hand, the “device cloud” developed and operated by Schildknecht, which takes over the data as this control centre, analyses it, presents it in an application-oriented manner and at the same time initiates the necessary measures.
DATAEAGLE 70000 and Schildknecht Device Cloud thus form a complete and powerful package for remote monitoring.
